FOREST GUARDIANS

For children in grades 3-5

Students will take their love of exploring to the next level by studying and preserving our local forest!  Forest Guardians will work as a research team, investigating Huntington Reservation to identify potential threats to its ecosystem.  Scientific studies will be conducted including macroinvertebrate sampling, water quality assessment, forest mapping, species identification and seasonal observations in the forest.  As a part of our research, Forest Guardians will develop a "Forest Protection Plan" to help preserve an area within Huntington Reservation.  This program is perfect for graduates of Explorers Club or any child that loves and wants to protect our natural world!
